A lovely traditional home with two bedrooms and one bath, can accommodate up to 4 persons, is located in the upper part of the Chora of Skyros. It has been updated by the architect-owner, while retaining almost all of its ancient elements.
The house is two-story and follows the natural slope of the hill.
The living room, furnished with an eclectic mix of contemporary and antique furniture, is on the upper floor and leads to a balcony with a panoramic view of the village and the countryside. A table and chairs on the balcony gives you the opportunity to enjoy coffee, drinks or a meal outside. The two bedrooms are situated on this floor. The first bedroom, with a double bed (140 cm wide, approx. 55") has a window looking out to the terrace. The second bedroom, with two single beds has a window facing the street that leads up to the fortress.
The lower floor, which is a smaller foot print than the upper floor, has an open dining area, a fully equipped kitchen (the dining table, the counter and the sink are made out of Skyrian marble) and a back door leading to a small shared yard and to the old St. John chappel. The bathroom (with shower) is located on this level.
Air condition keeps the upper floor rooms comfortable during hot weather, the lower level is naturally cooler.
Linen and towels are provided, but not beach towels. Pets are not permitted.
Due to the design and layout of the house, it is not suited to wheelchair accessibility.
Please note that the beautiful fine sand beach, Magasià, is a 10 minute walk from the house down a long set of stone steps that offers a stunning view of the Aegean Sea – figure that the return back up the steps toward the house will take about 20 minutes.
The owners, who speak German, French, English and Greek, will be available to give information about the island regarding the history, the beaches, the shops, the restaurants.
