Traditional house in Kouramades village, near the well-known beaches of Aghios Gordis, Peleka-Kontogialos, Yialiskari and Glyfada, 8 Km from old town, the airport, the port and 4 km from Achilleion Palace. Recently renovated to offer all the comforts for a pleasant stay.
It accommodates 3 persons in spacious rooms, for a minimum of 4 nights and offers all the home appliances.
Location
Kouramades is a colourful traditional village. The location provides an ideal base for exploring the island, with some of the best beaches only 4 km or 8 min away. “Aghios Gordis”, “Pelekas”, “Kontogialos”, “Yialiskari” and “Glyfada” near proximity. The village is 8 Km (13 min) from the old city of Corfu, the airport and the port, 2 Km from “Acqualand” the biggest water park in the Balkans and almost 4 Km from “Achilleion Palace”. It has a bakery, a tavern and a mini market. Very close also you will find a pharmacy, taverns, fish taverns, pizza, fast food, and other restaurants. For those who like walking in a natural environment, the unique olive tree fields provide an excellent choice for relaxation.
Bus service to old town & beaches is quite satisfactory.
The house
The space consists of one main bedroom with a King size bed (2,20X1,60) a living room with a sofa bed (2,00X0,90). Both rooms have cupboards and drawers for clothes. It offers a fully equipped kitchen with a dining facility, refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker (NESPRESSO system espresso machine), a large bathroom with washing machine for clothes, electric vacuum cleaner, pantry Items, hair dryer, iron & board, also provides flat screen TV, A/C, and free Wi-Fi.
In the beautiful front yard you will enjoy an early breakfast before your daily excursions to the island, or dinner under the vine pergola (pergulia in local dialect) just like a native.
It offers plenty of parking space just few meters away from the house.
It is not an exaggeration to say, that overall, you will be fascinated by the house atmosphere created by the old furniture refurbishing and the exquisite oil paintings of “Pappou” (grandfather) Dimitris Chytiris, who lived and painted in this house and is considered one of the popular Corfu artists.

Summary: My cousin and I were looking for a place that would allow us to experience Corfu without being too touristy, and we found it with Stamatis' wonderful traditional house! The house comfortably accommodated two adults, one in the bedroom and the other on the daybed (which was very comfortable!). The air conditioning was excellent, and the house stayed cool during the day as it did not have many windows. The local village was a delight, and one can walk to neighboring villages about 15-20 minutes away, but there is also an (infrequent) bus that stops on the main road. Not only was the house and village a wonderful place, Stamatis and his local contact were incredibly helpful, communicative, and delightful in every conversation we had with them - a true pleasure to deal with!
